Whether you've never touched a guitar or you've got some years under your belt, my approach will help you to strengthen your playing and learn to express yourself through the instrument.

Hi, I’m Andrew!

With over 20 years' experience of playing, studying and composing on the guitar, I’ve performed in genres including indie, rock, folk, progressive rock, funk, and jazz, playing all over Toronto in some of the city’s most historic venues.When I teach, I aim for a balance of theory and feel. You’ll learn basics like scales, modes, sight reading, time feel, and harmony, while also learning your favorite songs to keep lessons fun and motivating.

A Structured Approach

First we will focus on learning the basics. This includes the notes on each string, how to read basic music notation, and work on some basic exercises to build familiarity with the instrument.From there we will focus on learning songs, scales, and building chords to begin making music!Each lesson you will be given some work to practice on your own. Things like exercises, songs and etudes to help you learn quickly and make continuous progress.
